How to Generate Leads at a Networking Event

If you're trying to find an inexpensive way to develop groups of leads, networking events are a great match. It is important, however, to ensure that you're making the best use of your time, energy, and resources. Here are some great tips to help you learn how to generate business leads at your next networking event:

1. Write down your goals.

Who do you want to meet with? What industry are they in? How large is your target company? Write down your goals. These will help you stay focused on the right groups of leads at your next networking event.

2. Stop wasting your time at the wrong events.

Find the best networking events that meet all of your goals. If there's a networking group that only has 5 attendees and they don't fit your target leads group, keep looking for the best business networking group for you.

3. Stop wasting your time with the wrong people.

You only have an hour or two at a networking event to connect with the right people. If you connect with someone you like, but doesn't fit your vertical and doesn't have any quality lead referrals, get their business card and keep looking for quality leads. You can call other people later for coffee, but you only have a few hours to make your networking event count.

4. Follow up.

Always follow up with the quality groups of business leads that you receive. The connections that you make are meaningless unless you continue your business relationships after the networking event has ended. Find your groups of leads, and invite them to connect with you on leadsgroup.com. This way you're helping each other find quality leads, and you're adding just as much value to them as they are to you.
