I've had the pleasure of working with Gene Castello when I was employed as a credit manager at Reef VF Corp. I met him at a credit conference and was impressed with his ability to strike a good conversation and inspire trust. So much so that I went ahead and phoned my staff (while still at the conference), and asked them to fax over a few "very difficult" accounts to Gene's office. I did this instinctively just to see how well he would perform. Needless to say both Gene and his boss were astounded that I did this and I of course, was all the luckier!
